Can You Cook Hamburger Helper in a Crock Pot?
Hamburger Helper is a staple dinner dish in many households, but what about cooking it in a crock pot? It’s certainly possible, and with some minor modifications, you can cook hamburger helper in a crock pot for a delicious, easy meal!
Preparing the Meal
To prep the meal, you’ll want to:
- Gather the ingredients- hamburger meat, onion, uncooked macaroni, the seasoning packet and other vegetables you choose to include
- Dice the onion and vegetables and set aside
- Brown the hamburger in a pan on the stove
- Start the crock pot on low heat.
Assembling the Meal
Now that the prep is done, you’re ready to assemble your crock pot hamburger helper:
- If the hamburger is fully cooked, place it in the crock pot
- Layer the uncooked macaroni on top of the meat
- Pour the seasoning packet, onion and vegetables over everything
- IMPORTANT: DO NOT ADD WATER Instead, use beef broth or just spray the inside of the crock pot with cooking spray. This will prevent your meal from becoming stuck to the sides of the crock pot.
- Stir the ingredients in the crock pot, and set the heat on high.
- Cover and cook for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally
