Cooking Ham and Beans in an Instant Pot
Cooking Ham and Beans in an Instant Pot is a great way to get a delicious meal in no time at all. Here are some tips on how to prepare and cook the perfect meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound dry great northern beans
- 1/3 pound diced ham
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups of water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Rinse beans and drain off excess liquid. Place beans in a container with 2-3 times as much water and soak for 8 hours or overnight.
- Turn on the Instant Pot. Set the pressure release valve to the “sealing” position. Select the “beans/chili” setting and set the time to 30 minutes.
- Add the beans, ham, and onion to the Instant Pot. Pour in the 4 cups of water. Add salt and pepper.
- Close the lid securely and lock. Select the “manual” setting and adjust the time to 30 minutes.
- Once the time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then move the pressure release valve to the “venting” position.
Serving
Once the pressure has released and the lid is open, your Ham and Beans will be ready to serve. Serve with crusty bread and a big salad for a complete meal. Enjoy!
