How to Make Peach Butter in a Crock Pot
Making homemade peach butter in a slow cooker is an easy, delicious way to make your own spreadable condiment. Here’s how to do it:
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs fresh peaches, pits removed and roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
Instructions:
- Place peaches, lemon juice, spices and honey in a large crock pot, and stir until mixture is combined.
- Cover and cook until peaches are very soft, about 4 hours on low heat or 2 hours on high heat.
- Carefully remove the peach mixture from the crock pot and place in a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth.
- Return the mixture to the crock pot and stir in the brown sugar.
- Cook on low heat for an additional 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally until desired thickness is reached.
- Let the peach butter cool before transferring to air tight containers. The peach butter will keep for up to a month in the refrigerator.
